John Jebbor Sherington has been named Sierra Leone's new coach.
The 51-year-old former international was given the job after Brazilian Jose Antonio Nogueira failed to get a renewal of his contract.
It will be Sherington's second spell as manager of the Leone Stars, after a short stint between 1996 and 1997
Sierra Leone are poised to offer the job of national coach to former England international Andy Gray.
The president of the Sierra Leone Football Association (Slafa), Nahim Khadi, intends to ask the former Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur player on Friday if he will take up the post.
Gray is currently in the capital Freetown, where he has been helping out with development programmes for football.
"Andy Gray is my number one target. He's here and I'm going to talk to him today," Khadi told BBC Sport on Friday.
Khadi plans to install Gray as coach and make the existing boss, John Jebbor Sherington, his assistant for the Leone Stars' qualifying campaign for the 2008 African Nations Cup finals in Ghana.
